The bow front wrap-around porch is an architectural gem enhanced by its large corner lot.

The ornate trim carries around the side. The new cedar fence gives the backyard and the in-ground pool a private retreat.

The elevation of the lot adds to the houses grand architectural style.

The brick garage is conveniently located next to the fenced yard.

The architectural details are highlighted by a tri-color paint.

The original detail of the front gable of the roof adds a beautiful element to the facade.

The garage has a convenient door to the back yard and rear entrance.

The in-ground pool (2005) can be enjoyed in privacy behind the new cedar fence (2017).

The garage's architecture is highlighted by the same color scheme as the house.

May-Bray House

This Victorian Gothic home was built circa 1894 by Robert May, a well known attorney from Louisiana, MO.  Between 1900 and 1913, the wrap-around front porch with second story railing was added.  The brick garage in back was added about the same time and built with bricks left over from the Jackson Middle School located behind the house.  John May's daughter and son-in-law, the Bray family, lived in the home until her death.

The home had extensive remodeling in the summer of 2007 and was re-painted in a more "Painted Lady" Victorian style.  The garage was tuck pointed and painted to match the house colors.  Both the house and garage we also re-roofed.  The swimming pool was built in 2005.

**A floor plan and more photos of the pool will be added soon.**
